The NDAA Executive Committee is pleased to announce the Spring 2021 Cynthia Kordecki Scholarship!

Requirements

• People of any age may apply for the scholarship, including K-12 (students or educators), college and graduate students, professional researchers, and “life-long” students

• The research must promote the scientific investigation, preservation, and publication of archaeological research in the Northern Plains (with preference given to research based in North Dakota)*

• The scholarship must be used to fund part or all of a specific research or education project

• Award recipients must share the results of the research with the NDAA membership. Options may include 1) publishing the research as an article in the NDAA journal North Dakota Archaeology, 2) publishing a brief report in the NDAA newsletter, and/or 3) presenting the research at an Annual Meeting of the NDAA.


The North Dakota Archaeological Association (NDAA) is a non-profit organization that promotes the scientific investigation, preservation, and publication of archaeological research. The NDAA annually awards research scholarships. Awards can be up to $1,000 (USD).


The NDAA will notify scholarship award recipients no later than April 17, 2021. All applicants will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the NDAA. Award recipients will receive a complimentary copy of the issue of North Dakota Archaeology and/or NDAA newsletter in which their article appears.

*The NDAA cannot fund archaeological fieldwork for which the applicant has not received prior permission from the landowner, or which does not involve a Principal Investigator who is eligible for a permit to do archaeological work in accordance with federal and state law
